    Description

    South Pacific opened on Broadway in 1949, starring Mary Martin, and this wonderful vintage scarf was made in the 1950s by legendary textile manufacturer, Cohama. The fabric is airy woven silk. There is a facsimile of Martin's signature and the design depicts characters in various costumes with a large center area of pink hibiscus. Overall in very good condition. Colors are nice and bright and there are no stains, odors, or holes. The fabric has thinned with age and there is one area near the edge that has worn through in a few spots - please see last photo. Roughly 35" square. Fabulous collector's find!
