VINTAGE TAJ MAHAL SHAWL WWII ERA LILAC/LAVENDER SCARF CRESCENT MOONS & STARS

Description

A stunning vintage WWII era Taj Mahal shawl measuring approximately 33 inches by 33 1/2 inches with the lavender fringe measuring about 10 1/2 inches long and the white
fringe about 9 inches long.
It's a beautiful lilac or lavender purple color woven through with pale green, yellow, blue, and white. There are mystical crescent moons and stars in the sky and a fountain in the garden. Picture 4 shows the back of the shawl.
The shawl was probably never used and has the original folds. The fringe is somewhat tangled in some areas and some strands are longer than others.
There are weaving flaws from the manufacture and some pulled threads or yarns. Some white dots on the lavender are woven white yarns and there are a few purple dots of yarns on the back. Please see photos 5 through 10 for examples of the condition in general. Picture 5 shows an unusual weaving flaw on the edge. Picture 11 shows some pulled fibers/yarns in the pattern.
Possibly some
light color
fading but not extreme.
No rips, holes, or repairs. I don't see any spots.
A beautiful color! Feels very silky with a nice sheen but all Taj Mahal shawls of this type and era are made of a silky feeling rayon.
