    Description

    The Rooswijk, which is a Dutch East Indiaman, sank when it struck the Goodwin sands off the English coast in 1739. It was loaded with cargo and a large quantity of silver Cobs and Pillar dollars for trade in the East Indies. The Coin features the pillars of Hercules on the obverse with the date below. The reverse features the royal shield and crown of Phillip 5 of Spain with the MF assayers mark to the left. The denomination eight is to the right. It weighs 25.12 grams, and is easily a grade one. It is accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity as issued by the salvors.
