- Translation The Jewish prayer for safety of travelers (Hebrew : Tefilat HaDerekh) The Traveler's Prayer should be recited at the beginning of a journey, according to the Talmud (Torah). In the prayer, the traveler asks for a safe trip. English Translation : May it be Your will, O Lord my God, to lead us on the way of peace and guide and direct our steps in peace, so that You will bring us happily to our destination, safe and sound. Save us from danger on the way. Give us good grace, kindness and favor in both Your eyes and in the eyes of all whom we may meet.
