About This Product
No gimmicks. No difficult application. Just stronger hair.
Babyface's unique Pure Protein Treatment product is an easy to use professional grade protein treatment you can easily do yourself at home. Simply apply add a capful to your conditioner once every 2 weeks to strengthen weakened or damaged hair. It replaces the lost keratin on the surface of the hair strand, making it stronger and filling in the gaps where damaged cuticles have chipped off.
For chemical treated and heat-damaged hair
it fills in the pits that contribute to frizziness and split ends - which ultimately lead to breakage if left untreated. It also applies an even coating of protein to the hair strand so that your conditioner and hair beautifying products have something to stick to, making them work up to 10x better than without the treatment.
In thin and weak hair
, it thickens and strengthens it, so it can grow without breaking. This treatment is highly recommended for those with thinning hair, weak hair due to illness or medications, and those trying to grow hair back after chemo treatments.
These days, just about everyone is doing something to their hair. Coloring it, adding highlights, straightening or curling it, hair extensions and braids… even a blow dryer and hair brush will damage hair over time. Hair can only take so much, and it can’t repair itself. If you are doing these things to your hair, you may consider a regular protein treatment with our Pure Protein.
Understanding Damaged Hair
The hair shaft is made up of dead, hard protein called keratin, in three layers. The inner layer is called the medulla. The next layer is the cortex, and the outer layer is the cuticle. The cortex makes up the majority of the hair shaft. The cuticle is formed by tightly packed scales in an overlapping structure, similar to roof shingles.
When hair is damaged by chemicals, heat or trauma such as brushing through tangles, pieces of the cuticle chip off and expose the delicate cortex. Without it’s cuticle as protection, hair kinks (frizz) and is weak and breaks easily. When this happens near the bottom of the shaft, the layers of the exposed inner cortex start to peel and fray (split ends). The tear will travel up the shaft and eventually the shaft breaks. This is why it can be almost impossible for some people to grow their hair long. It just keeps breaking!
To repair the damage and stop the madness, you need to replace the missing keratin protein. This treatment will add extra protein onto the hair strand to build up those weak spots and provide more flexibility (not to mention protection from heat and styling).
How A Pure Protein Treatment Works
When used as directed, the treatment deposits a protective layer of protein on the hair shaft. The protein fills in all of the places where the natural keratin has been damaged and chipped off, leaving “open wounds” on the hair shaft.
The protein also has a second job – it retains moisture and nutrients from your conditioner, which effects the way hair feels. Without the protein, your hair really can’t “hold on” to conditioner, so it washes out, leaving little protection, if any. The protein, since it’s already adhered to the hair shaft, will retain the conditioner up to 10x better.
Remember, this is a
concentrate
. Only 1 capful is needed for each treatment. It might not seem like much, but that is a LOT of protein and this is one time where less is more. The dose may look small, but don’t be fooled.. a little goes a long way. The perfect amount of protein will be strong, yet still flexible when dry.
