    Description

    1863 Military District of Washington pass to Mr. Wm. Robinson and friends to enter Virginia and return by bridge or ferry.  Part printed form, signed by order of J.H. Martindale, though written by Lt. A.c. Houghton as aid-de-camp.  Martindlae (1815-1881) was a brigadier general and 1835 West Point graduage with division command; Houghton (1844-1914) went on to become a prominent businessman and mayor of North Adams, MA.
