    Description

This is an October, 1861 two-part defense document of Dr David Little of the 13th New York against charges of intentional neglect of duty.  The document consists of 4 pages in which Dr Little claims that he cannot be "impeached as to my efficiency as a surgeon".  It lists other witnesses such as: Surgeon Dalton, Jr.; Surgeon S S Mulford; Surgeon McGrider (?); Capt Schaefer; Capt Brown; Capt Putnam; Capt Nolte (?); Capt Highland; Lt Benjamin; Lt Boughton (?); Lt Hamilton and Lt Fuller.  The second document in this lot is a recommendation of Dr Little's abilities as a surgeon by Willard Parker, Professor of Surgery.
